When facing canyon at tip of CoO, turn right then jump over to platform and stay right so you go around round structure on your left shoulder. Kill 50 enemies on the Dreadnaught without dying to be awarded random chest key Kill scouting party and Blahgrish the Ogre appears, kill him to obtain the WormFeeder Rune Insert WormSinger into WormSinger switch located in Hull Breach to spawn Hive scouting party Regardless, I’m curious to see what the new bounties will include – and I hope to see these particular changes get worked in with the 2.0 patch.Drops from Knights/Wizards on Dreadnaught It seems to me like a pretty simple thing to adjust on the fly – but then, I’m not a developer. Adding in a new set of bounties is long overdue – it’s something I never really understood why it didn’t happen more frequently. In fact, the only reason I head to a different planet is for the patrol mission bounty, or if I need to kill Fallen, Vex or Cabal majors. Melee kills, 20 without being hurt, 100 without dying, 2 kills per fusion rifle burst, heavy weapons, triple super kills, even Hive Majors all can be completed right in the Steppes in a reasonable time. I find myself heading to the Steppes on Earth the most just because there’s a lot of easy low-tier enemies to finish quickly. I tend to pick them up and just do them on cruise control – each bounty has a spot that is pretty much perfect for it. Running the daily Vanguard bounties is probably the quickest way to level up your rep with whichever faction you choose, but it’s also the most repetitive. This also ties in with the last change – bounties.
Destiny patrol dreadnaught update#
So hearing that the dev team is adding in more variety in the beacon missions is a very welcome update – just a bit overdue. I’ve gotten the one to head to Clovis Bray on Mars from the Barrens, then picked it up again when I headed back to the Barrens. The scout missions are even worse – you can get the exact same scout mission from multiple beacons in certain zones. Every kill and collect mission is the same thing – find a specific enemy type (usually is right in that zone) kill a bunch, pick up the drops, rinse, repeat. The actual beacons may cycle through a random pattern of missions, but they’re all the same in the end. The problem with them is that they’re really repetitive. Patrol’s whole unique selling point is that it has those mission beacons – which you’re called to complete in a daily Vanguard bounty. The other big Patrol note here is that the main drawing point for the mode is getting some work. We’ll see if that changes as we get closer to The Taken King. I think we’re starting to see developers start to leave the past-generation behind, but Destiny has been reluctant to so far. And if we’re going to be honest here, I actually think they very easily could – if they didn’t have to worry about the Xbox 360/PS3 still. Could they go in and open up the mission instances for Patrol to add in a few new secrets/bosses. That’s been a part of MMO/Open World style games for ages – Borderlands had Crawmerax years ago, and Destiny I’ve always said is “Serious Borderlands.” This is my only major sticking point with the new content – can these changes be added in to the older areas. In the update they even talk about adding in Patrol bosses that have to be triggered to fight. Hopefully that means we’re seeing some of the mindset that produced the Vault of Glass – with alternate paths and hopefully hidden treasures abound. With the Dreadnaught, they’re saying a major pillar of the development is adding in extra secrets to explore. As it stands right now, there’s no incentive to explore – any longtime player already knows spawn rooms, random chest spawns, and beacon mission objectives like the back of our hands. I say as much as possible because one of the areas that the development team has been looking at is the actual layout of the patrol zones. I think it’s a safe bet though that they’ll be applied to the other locations as well, at least as much as possible. All that we know 100% for sure now is that these changes are coming with the new Hive Dreadnaught location. In last week’s Weekly Update, Bungie shared a few more details about how Patrol mode will be finally getting a bit of an update with The Taken King.
